The location is on a tranquil crystal clear lake and is within a scenic 20-minute drive to all the major ski hills in the Hurley/Ironwood/Wakefield area, have direct access to hundreds of miles of snowmobile/ATV trails, and near many breathtaking waterfalls (APRIL AND MAY ARE THE BEST WATERFALL VIEWING TIMES). Located on sparsely populated 450-acre Fisher Lake in Mercer, Wisconsin, Bear Bottom Hideaway (search bearbottomhideaway to find our website) is situated on five private wooded acres. New 2018 home located on a private peninsula on North Turtle Lake in Winchester, WI. Just over 1 acre with 900 feet of frontage on a 3 lake chain. The great room includes an open kitchen with all new appliances. The home has 2 levels with approximately 2000 sq. feet. There are 2 bedrooms and 1 bath upstairs and 1 bedroom with an adjoining bathroom on the main level. There is also a futon in the great room for an additional person. The great room features a wood burning fireplace and many large windows to capture the view from all directions. Other amenities include Direct TV and central air. Unfinished lower level with walk out to fire pit area. There are 2 docks. One is on the point of the peninsula and is perfect for family swimming. North Turtle Lake is a 386 acre-class A Musky lake with a maximum depth of 58 feet. Our lake is the middle lake in a chain of 3 lakes with over 1000 acres of water. You can easily boat to the other two lakes (Rock Lake and South Turtle Lake) right from the dock. The home is located near several communities including Manitowish Waters, Boulder Junction, Mercer, and Presque Isle. There are also many miles of paved scenic bicycle trails new to the area. Check out the nearby Win Man mountain biking / cross country ski trails. If you are bringing a boat there is a launch on South Turtle off Hwy W and another launch on Rock Lake. It is recommended to launch the boat prior to arrival at the house. We currently do not have WIFI available at the house but there is free WIFI about 2 miles away 24/7 at the Winchester library parking lot / garden are or in the library when open. Our home is located near the end of West Harris Lake Road with 356 feet of frontage on Harris Lake, a renowned musky and walleye fishing lake. Our sandy shoreline has a gentle sloped, shallow swimming area. There is a hill with approximately 12 steps to the lake. A dock is provided. Our property borders two wilderness preserves that encompass two small fishing lakes, Genevieve Lake Nature Preserve and the Nell Lake State Natural Area. These areas are open to the public for your recreational enjoyment, however, no motorized activity is allowed. Snowmobile trails are accessible by township roads. Numerous biking and hiking trails are a short drive away. Our area is rich with National Forest, state, county and township parks for recreational opportunities. This lakefront home is on a private lake meaning there is no public access, which keeps it much more peaceful and quite. The lake has about 60-70 acres of water, and neighbors have verbally agreed to not use gas outboards, so it stays quite and peaceful. We have approximately 300' of Southwest facing shoreline, a pier and several fishing boats with electric motors, canoes, and a paddle boat that are free to use. The living room has a cathedral ceiling with windows facing the lake. There is a 22' tall stone fireplace from the floor to the ceiling. The Dining room and Master bedroom also face the lake. There is a large deck overlooking the lake and the only neighbors that can be seen from the deck are across the lake. The lake has good Musky, Bass, and Northern Pike fishing, along with endless bluegills for kids can catch right from the pier. In addition to the living room mentioned there is a rec room with TV, pool table, air hockey, a basketball game and lots of other games for kids on rainy days. Almost the entire house interior is cedar or pine and the atmosphere is very lodge like. The end of our driveway directly connects to a branch of the snowmobile and ATV trail. We don't get much traffic here but it is nice to have direct trail access. Guests can walk to a small restaurant about 1/4 mile away,. It is usually open 3-4 days a week. We have a rental contract that you will need to sign and return before a rental can take place. All rental contracts must be signed and we must receive them before you pay for the rental. It is important to email us to request a contract be sent to you before you pay / book it. We need to make sure your group is of legal age and will not violate local ordinances which limit the amount of noise and the number of people that can be at a rental property.
